Landing

Hallo!
Thank you for your messages, they are so encouraging. We flew into Munich on Saturday morning and I got to visit Oktoberfest, which had just started. There were a ton of guys in lederhosen and girls in traditional Bavarian dresses!

Sunday we came to Salzburg. It was a beautiful drive in through green hills and mountains, and the weather was sunny and warm. Here's a picture of my roommate Jennifer and I in front of the Glockenspiel in Munich:

We met our house family: Trixi and Kristoff and their 15-yr old daughter Alex and 10-yr old son Tobias, as well as their cute dog Astor. Trixi made a delicious dinner for all of us. We live in a house built back in the late 1800's, but they've done alot of work on it. Trixi has a vegetable garden and a nice flower garden that we enjoy sitting in when it's not raining.

Finally, here's a picture of me with a view of Salzburg. That's a fortress on the hill. So many people walk and ride bikes here, but it has been rainy the past few days.

I had my first German classes today, so now I know how to count in German! It's been challenging to adjust to European lifestyle and also to make friends, but there's growth through trial. I love you all. God bless!
Liz

liz! you are officially in europe. i hope your flight was good. you really seem to be enjoying your time so far, i am so excited for you! the pictures are awesome and really help give a visual image of where you are... it makes it more real. =)

well, i just wanted to give you some encouragement that i received today. james 1:2-4 talks about going through various trials (which isnt necessarily persecution, but really just anything we are dealing with in our lives that may be hard at the time) and persevering. if we dont persevere, we wont become mature/perfect and complete. so, i hope that it is encouraging, i know it was for me.

have a fantastic week!!
